Children in Japan get more than ten vaccine doses in their first year. Chikutto Techo keeps your child's vaccination records and plans in one place. Enter a birthday and the app shows the usual timing for each vaccine and the period in which it is given as a routine vaccine under Japan's schedule.
See what comes next
- The home screen shows your next plan and the vaccines that can be given now
- Vaccines that open within 60 days are listed with their dates
- When you record a dose, the app shows the days since the previous dose and the official interval
- The list shows each dose as a circle (given, planned, not yet). Switch to the chart to see everything from birth to 13 years
Easy to record
- Record several vaccines given together in one step
- Past dates are fine, so you can copy records from the maternal and child health handbook later
- Pick a clinic you entered before. Lot numbers and notes can be saved too
- Add vaccines that are not on the list, such as an early self-paid shot or an antibody injection
- Hide the vaccine your child will not get (for example the rotavirus vaccine you did not choose)
Plans and reminders
- Reminders 7 days before, 3 days before, the day before and on the day, at a time you choose
- Even without a plan, one reminder when the usual timing starts
- The plan calendar shows brothers and sisters together, with a color for each child
Any number of children, free
- Adding children costs nothing, and no other app or account is needed
- With two or more children, the home screen lists everyone's next plan, soonest first (today and tomorrow stand out)
- Switch children with one tap on the name at the top
Schedule and sources
- Usual timings and routine periods are based on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare routine immunization guidelines and the JIHS immunization schedule
- Every screen shows which version of the schedule is used
- When the rules change, a new version of the schedule is delivered
- The app does not decide whether a vaccine can be given. Decide the dates with your doctor and follow the guidance of your city or town
Records stay on your phone
- No sign-in, no ads, no tracking
- Lock the app with fingerprint, face or PIN. While locked, reminders do not show names and the app is hidden from the recent-apps view
- Encrypted backup to a file is free
- 8 color themes, light and dark
Free and Pro
Free: records, plans, reminders, the list and chart, any number of children, your own vaccines, color themes, app lock and backup to a file
Pro (one purchase, not a subscription):
- Encrypted automatic backup to Google Drive (for changing phones)

Your records and a note
Whether or not you have Pro, you can always view, edit and export your records.
Note: this app is a tool for records and reminders, not medical advice. It is not a substitute for the maternal and child health handbook. The schedule follows Japan's system.
