Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Article 1 — Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing or using HelperLedger (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The App is a record-keeping and reminder tool for households that employ domestic helpers, with a guide that quotes official sources in the UAE, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Article 2 — No Legal Advice; Not an Agency

The App does not provide legal, immigration, employment or tax advice, and is not a government service, employment agency or recruiter.

Article 3 — Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer ("Provider") is not liable for indirect or incidental damages, missed deadlines, overstays, fines, penalties, or disputes with employees or landlords arising from use of, or inability to use, the App.

This does not limit liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer protection laws, or liability for the Provider's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Article 4 — Data, Backup and Passphrase

Your records are stored on your device. You are responsible for making backups. The Provider is not liable for data loss caused by device loss, failure, uninstallation, updates or failed backups.

Backups are encrypted with your passphrase. If you forget it, the backup cannot be restored on another device, and the Provider cannot recover it.

Article 5 — Reminder Accuracy

Article 6 — Your Obligations

Article 7 — Third-Party Services

The App uses Google Play, Apple App Store, Firebase Authentication, RevenueCat and Google Drive. Their terms apply to your use of those services.

Article 8 — Subscriptions and Payment

Article 9 — Intellectual Property

The App and its content (excluding quoted official texts and your data) are owned by the Provider.

Article 10 — Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when posted on this page.

Article 11 — Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end the App or a feature with reasonable notice where possible. You may stop using the App at any time.

Article 12 — Indemnification

You agree to indemnify the Provider against claims arising from your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Article 13 — Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance. Where mandatory consumer protection laws apply, those laws take precedence.

Article 14 — Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions remain in effect.
