1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the app "Clocktape" (the "App"). By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. No account is needed to use the App.

2. What the App does

The App is a tape-style time calculator that adds up hours and minutes line by line. When you change a line in the middle, the lines that use it are recalculated. You can sort tapes into groups and see each group's total. Your tapes are stored on your device.

3. A calculation tool, not advice

Results are calculated from the times and expressions you enter. Depending on how an expression is written or which times you enter (AM or PM, whether a shift crosses midnight and so on), a result may differ from what you expected. Please check the results yourself before relying on them. We are not responsible for the outcome of payments, contracts, filings or other decisions based on results in the App.

4. Your data and backups

Your data is on your device. You are responsible for keeping backups.

• Uninstalling the App deletes the tapes on your device
• Data that exists only on one device is lost if the device is lost, broken or reset
• Google Drive backups are encrypted with a key made from your passphrase. We do not know your passphrase and cannot see your Drive

5. Copying and sharing

The text of a tape is copied or shared only when you tap the button. It is handed to your device's clipboard or to the app you choose. What happens after the hand-off is governed by that app's terms.

6. Paid features (Pro)

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. Pro includes:

• As many groups and tapes as you need (the free version covers 1 group and 3 tapes)
• Automatic backup to Google Drive
• CSV export

All calculation features, copying and sharing text, and backup to a file are free. Even in the free version, you can always view and edit the tapes you have made.

• Google Play processes the payment. The purchase belongs to the Google account you bought it with
• After changing phones or reinstalling, tap "Restore purchase" with the same Google account
• If payment is pending, Pro becomes available once the payment completes
• Refunds follow Google Play's policies. After a refund, Pro stops working; the tapes you made are kept and you can still view and edit them
• Prices may change. A change only applies to new purchases

7. Advertising

The App shows no ads and contains no advertising SDK, in the free version as well.

8. Prohibited use

• Using the App for unlawful purposes
• Reverse engineering or decompiling the App, to the extent the law allows this restriction

9. Rights

The rights to the App and its design belong to us. The data you enter belongs to you. Product and company names are trademarks of their respective owners.

10. Liability

We work to keep the App running correctly but do not guarantee that it is free of errors or interruptions. Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the App. Where the law does not allow this limitation, the law applies.

11. Changes

We may change or discontinue all or part of the App and may update these terms. We will announce important changes through an app update.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply.
