Havelt QR (the "App") is a QR and barcode scanner that sorts what you scan into categories and keeps it searchable on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what happens to that information.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The App requires no account. Its core functions — scanning, sorting, searching and generating codes — work entirely offline.
We do not collect, transmit or store:
The following is stored locally, in an app-private SQLite database and in app preferences:
Wi-Fi passwords are held in the operating system's encrypted storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain), not in the database, and are never transmitted.
Payment codes are not written to history at all by default; they are shown once and discarded.
The App does not operate a server of its own, and nothing you scan is ever sent anywhere automatically. The only requests the App makes are:
| Purchase | Google Play (or, once available, the Apple App Store) processes the one-time purchase. See Section 6A. |
|---|---|
| Backup | Only if you turn it on, and only to your own Google Drive account. See Section 5. |
| Feedback | Only if you choose "Send feedback" in Settings, which opens a Google Form in your browser. You are shown exactly what would be attached before you send it. See Section 6D. |
Backup is optional and is included with the one-time purchase. When enabled, the App writes your data to your own Google Drive, in a visible /Havelt/ folder.
The folder is deliberately visible rather than hidden, so you can open, inspect, download or delete the files yourself. We have no access to your Google Drive and no copy of your backup.
Granting access uses a narrow Google Drive permission (drive.file) that lets the App see only the files it created itself. It cannot read the rest of your Drive.
Backup currently ships on Android only. If we add it on another platform, this policy will be updated first.
Google Play (and, once available, the Apple App Store) handles downloads, updates and payment for the one-time purchase, and may collect data under its own policies. We receive no payment credentials.
When the App language is set to Japanese, product detail screens include buttons that open Amazon or Rakuten in your external browser to search for the item. In other languages no store buttons are shown. These may be affiliate links; if a purchase you make earns us a commission, that is disclosed in the App at the point of use. Once you leave the App, the destination site's own privacy policy and cookies apply. The App does not embed those sites and does not observe what you do there.
Used only if you enable backup, and only with your own account. See Section 5.
Used only if you choose to send feedback from Settings. The App opens the form in your external browser and may pre-fill it with local counts of which barcode formats you have used, your purchase status, app version and language — never the content of anything you scanned. You can remove the pre-filled data before sending, or decline to send it at all.
iOS and Android may collect diagnostic data depending on your device settings. We do not control OS-level collection and receive nothing from it.
The App includes no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no third-party crash reporting service.
Unexpected errors are written to a log stored on your device only. Nothing is uploaded automatically. If you choose to send a support request, you decide what to include.
| Camera | Required to scan codes. Frames are processed on the device and are not recorded or transmitted. |
|---|---|
| Photos (when you choose one) | Used only to read a code from an image you pick yourself. |
| Vibration | Scan feedback. Can be turned off in settings. |
| Internet | Processing the one-time purchase, and, only if you turn them on, backup and sending feedback. |
The App requests no location permission and no contacts permission.
The App is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.
Your history stays on your device until you delete it. In addition:
No system is completely secure. Device theft, malware and OS vulnerabilities remain your responsibility to guard against.
Your history stays on your device and is not transferred internationally, because the App does not operate a server.
If you enable backup, your data is stored in your own Google account, under Google's terms, which may involve storage outside your country.
Because we hold no personal data about you, subject access and erasure requests have nothing to act on. Your data is already entirely in your hands.
We do not collect, sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We do not process personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We do not collect or store personal data on our servers, so our obligations as a controller are minimal. For data held by Apple, Google or the affiliate destinations, please contact those companies directly.
We may update this Privacy Policy. For material changes we will notify you through an app update. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We will not reduce your privacy rights without your explicit consent.
For questions about this policy, please use the contact page or the support link on the store listing.
