Candle Shelf
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using the mobile app "Candle Shelf" (the "App"). By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
No account is needed to use the App.
The App keeps a record of the candles you collect on your own device: the scents you own and how many, burn records, ratings, a wishlist, scents you only sniffed in a store, photos and notes. You can search and view them, and see simple stats.
When you scan a barcode, the App tells you if you have already recorded a candle with the same barcode. When it opens, it may show a random photo from your collection and suggest one candle for tonight.
The duplicate check only compares against the candles you have recorded in the App. The App has no product database and does not look up barcodes online. A candle may not be matched if it was recorded without a barcode, or if the same scent comes with a different barcode. Please check for yourself before you buy.
"Tonight's candle" is picked at random from your own records. It is not advice on which candle is safe to burn. Please follow the maker's instructions and burn candles safely.
Candles and photos are stored on your device. You are responsible for managing your data.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any loss of data, whatever the cause.
The App offers Pro, a single in-app purchase that you pay for once. There is no subscription. Pro includes the following.
Barcode scanning, burn records, ratings, the wishlist, basic stats, exporting a backup to a file and exporting to CSV are available in the free version.
The App shows no ads and contains no advertising SDK, including in the free version.
Rights in the App and its design belong to us. The data you enter or attach belongs to you. Product and company names are trademarks or registered trademarks of their owners.
The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from the use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We may change, suspend or end all or part of the App, and we may revise these Terms. We will announce important changes through an app update.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute about the App or these Terms. This does not limit mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence.
For questions about these Terms, please use the contact page or the support contact on the store listing.
